Pleasure as Art September 3rd @ at Erotic Heritage Museum

Pleasure as Art September 3rd @ at Erotic Heritage Museum

Vibratex and Dafne Blade partnered to craft “Pleasure as Art” using over 100 Magic Wands in an out of this world sculpture. Vibratex held a competition asking artists to create their own magic using the wands. Miami based artist, Dafne Blade, submitted detailed sketches, stories, and inspirations for their work. Ultimately, Blade’s design was the champion with a sculpture reminiscent of a familiar HBO series and fulfilling our sci-fi fantasies.

Only through October 2022 Blade’s work will be available in our “Sex in Space” exhibit. On September 3, Dafne will join us at the museum to discuss the story behind their art and their creative process. For this special event, museum entry will be $10 for those participating in the workshop. Guests may also have the opportunity to pose with the sculpture. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the LGBTQ Connection: LGBTQ Connection | Napa County & Sonoma County (Copy)

History

Does the Magic Wand look familiar? It should! Since 1968, the Magic Wand has been providing people pleasure. When anyone mentions the Magic Wand, this device is the original. However, the Magic Wand has transcended its role as a pleasure device, and has become a cultural icon–referenced in television, fashion, and art. Beyond providing pleasure, the Magic Wand promotes social awareness and progress with the messaging “Pleasure Persists.”
